Hey all ,
I was checking out some distortion effects for flex 2 created by alex uhlmann. http://weblogs.macromedia.com/auhlmann/ I was wondering if anyone has got the cube rotate effect done in AS2 ( kinda like the rotate desktop effect in mac). I know he uses the sandy 3d distort image class. thanks cheers firdosh |

I was checking out some distortion effects for flex 2 created by alex uhlmann. I know he uses the sandy 3d distort image class. The uhlmann applications for Flex are turly beautiful. If you only wish to reproduce the "cube rotate" animation, you can use a Box primitive with a RotationInterpolator, and a suitable Ease method. You set the start and end values for the angle of rotation, say 0 and 90 degrees, and run it at a mose click. You keep track of how much it rotates and runs from 90 through 180 degrees nest time, etc. To see the RotationInterpolator in use, some examples are here. You should also download uhlmanns examples and see if you can use them. |

I remember that a member here has done something much simpler but that would be a good start.
A lot of blogs have talking on such application of the distortimage, try to use google to see if something is interessting for you. Otherwise you can port the Alex's code back in AS2 (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) |
